When we did this trip we all wore waterproof boots. We tried it again this year and wore our snowboard boots all the way to the cabin and it was fine. I don’t bring separate boots anymore.

Such a cool video guys. I’d never thought to hike with the boots already strapped into the bindings haha such a simple yet good idea. What boots do you wear when you have the snow shoes on? Just waterproof hiking boots? It’s almost winter down under and I’m thinking a few hiking days may just offset inflated lift prices!

Where the heck is that cabin? It looks like your on the Mirror Lake trail.

It was about a nine hour hike from the valley with all our equipment. We had nearly 70 pounds per person, a hiker with less gear could move a lot faster.

What route did you take to get to this “cabin”? How long did it take to get there?

That was a fantastic video! I’m sure you are keeping the cabin location secret… but I would love to know where it is! Guess I will have to find my own way to do a similar adventure. Thanks again for the video!

Loved this video. Those must have been some heavy packs! With your boards and snowshoes on there, that’s a lot of weight! And not a single complaint can be heard! Looked like it was a great trip :)

Nope, it’s an abandoned cabin out in the backcountry. Used to be part of the Curry Company ski touring huts but they shut down back in the 30′s.
